Adwords Quality Score

The concept of quality score has been set up by Google to ward off people from putting up irrelevant links and reduce incidences of spam. Basically they have tried to clean up the place and make it more user-friendly for people who are looking for genuine information.

How does this translate for people who use adwords?

To begin with you must use high quality ads which lead the viewer to a high quality relevant landing page.

How important is it to have a high quality score?

The score is an important deciding factor on high your ad is placed. In case you have a low score Google may price your keywords higher.

How can a person improve his rating?

There are several ways to improve your quality score.

First of all, check out the relevance of your ads. Does the ad deliver anything substantial?

Were the keywords used properly in your ads? If you have not taken care of this, you can run a low score.

Next, check out the quality and relevance of your landing page. Does this page link properly to the ad that you have placed? Or does it have a tendency to mislead the visitor?

None of us can master everything. So the best thing to do is to go to an expert and seek advice.

The importance of the landing page should never be overlooked. This page must trigger the purchase decision, must carry assurances and guarantees. These are the most important inclusions though there are plenty of other things that go into it. Google policy can change anytime, and it does.

There are many things which are constantly falling and out of flavor. Hence it is important to keep a tab on the big guys who are continuously adapting themselves to the changing environment.

To be successful with your adwords, it is imperative that you have high quality scores. Of course, there are scores of people out there who do not even know about Google having a system of scores. Needless to mention, these people are spending a whole lot of money, which otherwise could have been saved.

How Google calculates the high score is not known as the formula is never exposed to the public. I have merely touched upon those topics which are known to affect the formula. So you could concentrate only on such things and have a higher score in no time with lower costs per click.
