Arm Yourself With Sound Fundamentals
One of the main problems that people have when it comes to making money online is that they get caught up in all the bells and whistles with products and they don’t focus on themselves and their online business. They are too busy reading about other people’s online success and not creating it for themselves.
Find a use for an online skill, learn it and apply it. It isn’t rocket science, but far too many people don’t do it. Even if a person isn’t successful applying it to their own online business, hopefully they can put that skill to work in a freelance capacity.
It gives that person a fall back plan if their online business isn’t successful or has just hit a rough patch. It is the same reason that people go to college, yes they want the degree on their resume to get the job, but they have to have learned those skills that it takes to do the job.
I’ll give you an example, Search Engine Optimization. That is a skill that is really in demand. Most people don’t know a thing about it. Lots of offline businesses hire a person to build them a web site for their business and it doesn’t do them much good because they don’t get hardly any traffic to it. The vast majority of them know very little about getting traffic and the vast majority of them know nothing about SEO.
That is a skill that will help you with your own online business, because you can have your own sites and monetize them and use your SEO skills to get traffic. Also, like I said before there is a big demand for SEO freelance work and that can be very lucrative.
I’ll give you one more example and that is copywriting. That can be applied to your online business by selling your own products and building mailing lists. You can also freelance and make a lot of money that way, some professionals make thousands of dollars for just writing one sales page.
Get your Online Marketing education by doing research and applying skills and refining them. There is plenty of great free information out there for learning various online skills.
There are countless other examples that I could give. The important thing is finding good material to research and learn and then to apply what you learn and test what works best for yourself.
