Email marketing is one of the most important aspects of your business, it is a great way to stay in contact with your customers and send them promotions. It will even create repeat customers because they feel like they know you.
Creating your opt in list is the key to a successful business no matter what type of business that you may have. This is because you are building a targeted email list of people that are interested in purchasing products for a specific niche. If you are not building targeted email list for each of your markets, then you are making a big mistake in your marketing campaigns.
Common Mistake #1: The most common mistake that I am finding many companies online are making is that they are not building their email list. If you are currently not collecting the email addresses of people visiting your site then you are losing a ton of money. I don’t care if you are promoting affiliate products, you should be building your list. There is no question about it.
I am going to yell something so cover your ears if you don’t want to hear this, but it’ very important, ‘THE MONEY IS IN YOUR LIST’ I am yelling it because it is that important to building a successful business of any type, because of the relationship that you are building with them.
Common Mistake #2: Another big mistake that far to many people make with their targeted mailing list is that they are always sending them something to buy. They are never giving them a reason for why they gave you their valuable email address. Peoples email boxes are constantly flooded daily with tons of unwanted mail, you don’t want yours to be one of them.
Common Mistake #3: Not giving them any incentive to join your list. Why in the world would they give you their email, so that you can add extra junk to their inbox, they just won’t. That is unless you give the good reason too. Offer them a monthly newsletter that will have exciting up to date information with real content, or maybe an email course, but you have to give them something in exchange for their email.
Here are some great tips to creating a successful email marketing campaign:
1. Your email marketing campaign should be well planned out and executed. Writing your email messages should take time and thought, you don’t want to just send them out anything. So write out all of your autoresponder messages before you go live with your advertising.
2. Give them a reason to open every single email that you send to them.
You want to make your messages exciting, you want it to stand out above all of the rest. You want your customer waiting impatiently for your next email. If you write your message like you would talk to them, it will help to keep their attention. Adding some of your personality will make a killer message and will definitely give them a reason to open up your next email that you send with a promotion.
