Generating Copywriting Ideas

When it comes to generating ideas for copywriting, it’s important to stick to the basic fundamentals. You must understand people in general. You must understand their emotions and buying impulses.

People will ask me if I feel guilty for appealing to people’s emotions. People know that I’m a super nice person and really care about people, not just making money.

I tell them, absolutely not. For one, I don’t promote or sell anything that I don’t think will really help people. Another thing is that I always offer a money back guarantee, so I have absolutely no guilty conscience, at all.

People will always have emotions and will always have a buyer’s impulse. Techniques and strategies and scripts and web effects change, but emotions stay the same, if you can appeal to them, you can write effective copy and keep generating new ideas.

Any ways that you can tap into scarcity and urgency is going to continue to be successful. People can’t stand to miss out on something. They hate to feel embarrassed.

You just have to be sincere with the urgency. I see people with these sales pages that say we only have 17 copies left and then when someone buys and goes back to the sales page a couple days later and sees 17 copies left.

People have to trust you, in order to, buy from you. It’s that simple. These people are already lying to potential customers on their sales page. You can’t think that people are idiots, it has to be real.

There are many tools available today that create real urgency. There is no need to add false “17 copies left” in the copy, keep it genuine and you can’t go far wrong.

Being able to personalize the sales letter, so it comes off as if the sales page is personalized to each individual is always going to be important. People like a personal touch, it makes them feel at ease.

If you’re not a professional copywriter, the best thing that you can do is study the top professional copywriters. They keep a pulse on trends and stay on the cutting edge, they also split test and see what works best. They test colors, graphics or no graphics, headlines etc.
