Rome wasn’t Built in a Day, Neither is Your Online Business

I recently published a report about how I would build an online business in a day. Well, it definitely wasn’t a complete online business, but it was a start. It was about creating a short private label rights report and selling it on a marketing forum.

It’s definitely something to build on and I haven’t met anyone who has made good money the very first day that they got into making money online. I know a TON of marketers.

I see people say; well I’m going to have this massive blog empire of 100 blogs in various niche markets. I’m going to do it in a month. Well that’s 25 blogs a week.

You have to research the market for the blog. Determine if it is a profitable market. You have to go through the process of creating the blog. You have to go through the process of getting or creating unique content and you have to find a way to keep up to date and monetize the blog. You also have to keep adding content.

Let’s say you take the weekends off and work five days a week. That’s still online five blogs a day. The problem is that most people who try to make money online don’t work an 8 hour day. They quit their job so they didn’t have to have a boss to keep them on track and so they didn’t have to work so hard.

All of the distractions and temptations, before they know it they are only putting in a couple of hours a day. People are lazy by nature and people procrastinate by nature. It’s always easier to say that I will do it tomorrow. Well, after awhile a person runs out of tomorrows.

Say you stick to your plan and you kick out 25 blogs in a week, what if they aren’t very profitable. I know people who have set up blogs and they make them two cents a day through Adsense. That’s disheartening.

Is it possible? Anything is possible, but there is a big difference between being possible and being practical and I think that is a big key when it comes to starting and maintaining an online business.

This article was not written to be negative. You can achieve all of your dreams online, but just know that setting up and running an online business can be a lot of work and you definitely don’t always see the fruits of your labor right away. It certainly doesn’t mean that you will never see them, just remember to look towards the long-term.
