You can have the talent, the knowledge and everything else, but it doesn’t matter if you don’t have the mentality to succeed. I believe that everyone has to break some mental barriers if they want to achieve their goals and be successful.

I broke through SEVERAL mental barriers before I started to make it big online. Firstly, I had a confidence problem.  I’m a confident person by nature. The problem is that trying to start out and make a bunch of money online, well it can be a very humbling experience.

I researched and researched and talked to all kinds of people and read all kinds of products etc. So then, I had the information and the knowledge to make a bunch of money online, but I still wasn’t making it.

The next problem that I encountered was that I was getting information over-load and nothing was happening. I wasn’t taking action on the information that I had. I think that there were a few reasons for that.

There was so much indecision in my mind. What niche or niches should I focus on? What techniques or strategies am I going to use?  Will I do be an affiliate, sell on eBay, create my own products, start a membership site etc.?

Well I ended up doing all of those things and much more. I would also do it in a few different niche markets.

At the time, I really had no clue. A person hears so many things and every person is different and different things work better or worse for different people.

I have come a long way in a few years, I had no knowledge, no clue how to even set up a website. I went from a complete novice, I mean real novice (no clue how to work a computer!) to creating an ecommerce site using Oscommerce.

Turning a hobby into a business with a merchant account taking direct credit card payments. Now that’s taking action, the learning curve was like mount everest. But the biggest thing that I wanted, was success online and ditch the 9-5 job for good.

Creating the ecommerce for my first ever site, was probably not the best idea! but looking back now it taught me a lot about marketing online. And I gradually moved to selling digital products which is far less hassle compared to tangible goods shipped to the customer!

I put in more time than most other people to educate myself and put in the time and effort that it takes to run an online business. Most people get into this and when they see that it takes some real work and they bail and just go back to their day job. It’s a mentality and mindset that usually separates people, take action, work hard and you’ll find success in anything you put your mind too
