The Successful Marketer pt1
Many books have been written on the subject of successful entrepreneurs, as well as successful people in general. And in fact, countless motivational speakers like Zig Ziglar and Anthony Robbins (just to name a couple) have made a handsome living teaching people like you and I how to affect positive change on our lives.
In this article, we’ll reveal some of the traits that successful Internet marketers have in common.
Most people would like to have financial freedom. Many would love to run their own business (especially from home) and probably many have even dreamed of developing a steady passive income, but most fail. And why is that the case?
When you take a look at successful Internet Marketers like Mark Joyner, Jay Abraham, Armand Morin, Ewen Chia and many others, you will notice that they have many traits in common.
Most successful marketers are visionaries, they plan their time well, they get along with many others… but it isn’t about their activities, it’s about the core of their very being - they have successful traits ingrained inside them.
Make no mistake about it; it isn’t about how good you are at manipulating SEO, having the most beautiful blog or having millions of visitors come to your website - these are all important but not the full picture!
BECOMING A PROACTIVE MARKETER
One trait successful Internet marketing experts have is that they are PROACTIVE people. People who are willing to get their hands dirty while trying to overcome the learning curve.
You see, the biggest problem with many Internet marketing wannabes (and I can say, at least a majority of them who are not tech savvy) is that they are willing to spend so much money (and time) reading books, buying E-books posting on forums, going to seminars and even on motivation programs but they are not willing to sit down and start a site. As they wait for the next big brainstorm to hit, perhaps they might view themselves as an ‘ideas person’. The reality is, if you’re not moving forward, you’re moving backwards.
They will say things like, “Yes, starting a site is a good idea… I’ll find the time soon… to sit down and start a site!” After two years, they are still trying to “start their first one”.
Some may say that they should get all the information first, research the market, find their hot niches and even attend a few more seminars. But at the end of the day, if you don’t start something, nothing gets done and you will never progress to the next level until you break the ice.
I speak this from personal experience. Internet marketing is not like a conventional business where you spend so much time at the drawing board thinking about the best strategy before you start. Strategizing is very important, but I will share with you a little something about how to start an Internet business as a newbie.
You need to develop your skills in Internet marketing and overcome the technical barrier by getting your hands dirty. Grab your credit card, buy your domain name, host your site, create your landing page, find a product and drive traffic, you have to get into the action mode before you can truly progress.
Only then will you be able to implement your ideas into your business - otherwise, it is nothing but wishful thinking.
You have to cross the bridge that only you can cross. Developing your first site is not something you can outsource easily, unless you fancy the idea of calling your web designer on a daily basis; getting him to tweak every nook and cranny. It will drive either you or him insane, even if you can afford to outsource a site.
By breaking the ice, and overcoming the technical barrier, you will be able to smoothly implement your ideas without being slowed down by your fear of the unknown.
Make a serious effort to start your first (or your next) internet project today. Even if your site turns out to be a failure - it is a good failure, because you will gain the skills you need to start a successful site from then on. Remember, even the most successful Internet marketer starts their first site poorly (that probably looks like crap) so don’t worry, just get started and you would have taken the most important step.
